ABOUT US

Christian is 53 years old and is B.Sc.E.E and Anne is 48 years old and is information specialist. We live together with our 12 years old daugther 40 km northwest of Copenhagen.

We got our first Wheaten in 1988. Our kennel prefix Gaelic-Wheaten's was officialy recognized in September 1992 and we had our first litter in 1993. We are working together with breeders in Germany, Finland, Sweden, Holland and Denmark, and we are in contact with Wheaten-fanciers all over the world.
Back in 1990 we imported our foundation bitch DKCH KLBCH Wheaten Rebel's Gaelic Girl (Sinéad) from Germany, and 2 years later our other foundation bitch Zarosan Eileen of Eire (Molly) joined us from Finland.
Gaelic-Wheaten's Heather of Eire is the 3rd generation as she is Mollys granddaugther. Heathers daughter Gaelic-Wheaten's Méabh of Connaught is the 4th generation after Molly.
The masculine part of the "team" is represented by DKCH KLBCH KBHV01 KLBV03 DKLBCH DVDHCH Gaelic-Wheaten's Dawn Rebel and his son Gaelic-Wheaten's Lancelot who is the 4th generation in our kennel.
In 2005 it was time for importing a new bloodline fro Sweden. We had been looking around for a while and finally we found what we had been looking for in Kennel Honeyrags. In October 2005 we got DKCH Honeyrags Lovely Gaelic Lad. In 2007 it was time for us to get a young bitch and therefore we decided to keep Gaelic-Wheaten's No Matter What from our N-litter.

In 2008 we got the unique oportunity to use the Irish born dog Maroc Na Sionna for stud service, he and Méabh gave an excellent litter from which we kept Gaelic-Wheaten's Penny In My Pocket (Molly).
In 2009 it was time for Méabh to have her 3rd and last litter. After we had spent a lot of time looking for a stud dog in Europe we finally decided to import frozen semen from Macfinn O'Mahony, he is living in Arizona but was born in Ireland. We got a very nice litter as result of this experiment.

In 2011 it was time for CH Gaelic-Wheaten's No Matter What to have her first litter, which is the 6. generation in our kennel. We decided to get more Macfinn-blood into our bloodline as it fits very well with what we have in our lines as well as with our wishes for our breeding. The Irish born Dalstar Rip van Winkle was chosen as studdog for this litter. He was the right choice, as we got a beautiful litter of 8 pups with excellent temperaments. From this litter we have kept Gaelic-Wheaten's Róisin of Eire.
In February 2013 CH Gaelic-Wheaten's No Matter What got her second and last litter. We were very close to loose her because of a serious infection so that is why this became her last litter although it is tempting to let her have her third litter, as she has given us excellent puppies. From this litter we have kept Gaelic-Wheaten's Seamus Heaney.

We are breeding for healthy typical Wheatens of the correct Irish type with good temperaments. We are only using dogs for breeding which are free of HD, enheritated eyediseases and the enheritated kidney diseases: Progressive Nephropaty, PNP and PLN.

Our Motto is:

What was made Irish, should remain Irish

Until today Gaelic-Wheaten's are living in Denmark,Germany, Holland, Italy, Sweden and France.

We are living in a small village 40 km north west of Copenhagen called Joerlunde, visitors are wellcome but please call us first.
